Alex Warren

Alex has danced with StrictlyStage since the age of 5 and has taught and assisted since the age of 12. He prides himself in a number of styles that he has been able to persue, training in: Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre,Street, Contemporary and even a bit of Ballroom. He uses his training in thenumerous classes he has taught and assisted at over the years,to give the next generation of performers the same opportunities that he has had.

What happens for Alex outside of Strictly Stage? Furthering his knowledge at the Arts University Bournemouth where he currently studies dance in his final year, incorporating styles such as Cunningham, Graham, Ballet, Modern, Jazz,Lyrical, Salsa and Hip-hop into Contemporary Dance.

He also likes to be creative and is always looking for new inspiration in helping him create music videos for his YouTube channel. When Alex is not dancing he is a part-time carer, giving him more skills under his belt that he hopes can be incorporated within Strictly Stage one day. Alex’s time in the industry has allowed for many collaborations with other arts-based and sport related courses, however, he has also worked in collaboration with Pavilion Dance South West to put on ‘Surf the Wave’, one of the UK’s largest dance showcases. A few notable companies that he has worked with include Ballet Boyz, Joan Cleville Dance and Lila Dance. He has also assisted in a“male”only workshop with the sole aim of engaging more males into the world of Dance. In addition to collaborating, he has also performed in Strictly Stage’s annual shows at the prestigious Lighthouse Theatre Poole, ‘Cinderella’ at the Tivoli Theatre, Pop 4 Diabetes does ‘Dirty Dancing’, Pop 4 Diabetes does‘ Grease’, ‘That Happy Place’ and ‘Springboard’ at Pavilion Dance South West and ‘A Day of Dance’ 2018/19 at Arts University Bournemouth.

What’s next for Alex? He is really interested in continuing his work in the Music Video Industry, but he also likes the idea of Dance Movement Therapy. In July 2020 he will graduate University, and whilst he isn’t sure where his next path will take him, he knows that Strictly Stage will always be his home.
